Advent Reflections…Luke 1:11-17

Zachariah was blessed with a son. You heard his and Elizabeth’s prayer and answered! It was his seed that you used to bring forth life to a dead and barren womb.

I too, have been given a seed to steward and your Holy Spirit gives it life. A mandate has been given to me just like Zachariah…

Go therefore into all the nations, making disciples, baptizing them in the name of the father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you and lo, I am with you always…even to the end of the age.

Matt. 28:19-20

Am I preparing a way for you this Christmas season? Is there a place in my heart for you? My thoughts? These last few weeks, as I finish the year out, building up to Christmas, help me to embrace silent moments…un-grasping my hands and heart from too much stuff. Bring me back to the place of preparing my heart for your coming.

Am I ready?

May my prayers and words to others be of love and unity…restoration of relationships…redemption of hearts…that those who are lost in darkness will experience your Sonrise within their heart this Christmas season.

No greater gift have you given us then the forgiveness of our sins because of your mercy. And no greater gift can we give to others then that very same gift…that they too, can have your merciful forgiveness and walk within your light that guides us into the way of peace.
